POSITION TYPE: Part-time (20 hours/week)

REPORTS TO: Director of Ministries

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a creative, self-directed, organized, and energetic individual to serve as our NextGen Coordinator. This person will partner with the Pastor, Director of Ministries, and Children’s Team volunteers to lead programs serving children from birth through 12th grade. 

This is a flexible part-time position (20 hours/week) that includes Sunday morning responsibilities, with additional planning and leadership hours throughout the week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with other organizations to create opportunities for youth; partner with church leadership to integrate children and youth into the broader life of the church
• Plan, organize and oversee activities and events (i.e., Sunday school, youth/children group(s) and special events such as children’s performance in worship service(s); outreach, mission trips, and retreats)
• Manage program within budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of church resources 
• Communicate clearly and effectively with parents and other church staff/volunteers and seek feedback for improvement

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Committed Christian supporting the Mission of Green Trails church and United Methodist teachings.
• Experience with age-appropriate curriculum, child development, and teaching strategies
• Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills
• Ability to resolve conflict and adapt to changing needs
• Safe Gatherings Certification must be completed before employment.  This includes a criminal background check.

COMPENSATION:   $18-22 / hour, dependent on experience
